Sedum plant is native to the Northern Hemisphere particularly Europe, Asia and North America. They are inherently adapted to rocky terrain, mountainous terrain and dry grasslands that have well-draining soil and scarce nutrients. Sedums were known as stonecrops and soon adapted to live in harsh conditions and stored water in thick and fleshy leaves. This flexibility has rendered them popular in contemporary gardens, green roofs, and desert-resistant landscaping worldwide.
